What is Reiki?
Reiki is a laying on of hands touch healing system of incomparable ease and power.

The Reiki energy re assimilates the cell so that it is brand new and brings it closer to its birth process state. For example when you look at the cellular wall, it has a wavy effect and after a while, it disintegrates. When you apply the ray of the cosmic Reiki to that space, it begins to realign the molecules in the cell. Then it begins to reaffirm the strength of the cellular integrity, the wall of the cell, and it puts strength back into the cell.
Reiki is totally positive and can never cause harm to any living thing, whatever their condition or status. It is valid for use on anyone, no matter how young, old or frail. If you are in pain or emotional distress, Reiki helps. For the person or pet that is healthy, Reiki relaxes and rejuvenates. The positions balance the left and right hemispheres of the brain and balance all the chakras and the energy field. They clear and increase the animal or human body's flow of life force Ki. When someone is dying, Reiki only eases the process but will not prevent the person or animal from passing over at the designated time.
This healing energy force is our birthright, was once Universal, and was never meant to be lost. We all have this ability.
One very big misunderstanding about healers...A healers role, (no matter what modalities they are using) is simply to channel the energy, which the receiver can use in any way that is best for his(her) needs. It's a 3 way agreement between the healer, the receiver, and the Higher self/The Divine Universal Source(or whatever you want to call this force.) A healer does not do a healing to someone but only with them. Without the receiver's agreement and participation in the process, no healing can take place. With this agreement,whatever happens in the session is what was meant to occur.("Essential Reiki" by Diane Stein)
Attunements, The Three levels of Reiki Healers.
In the life force energy of Reiki, the person who is attuned as a Reiki Healer has had her (his) body's energy channels opened and cleared of obstructions by the Reiki attunements only given by a Reiki Master (Level III). Receiving not only and increase of this life energy (Ki) for ones own healing but becomes connected to the source of all universal Ch'i or Ki.
Reiki I -attuned to heal oneself and others directly.
Reiki II - 2nd attunement measurably increases the amount of healing energy and focuses on emotional, mental and karmic healing. Adds considerable power to direct sessions and adds the methods and tools for distance healing.(someone not physically present.) 3 of the Reiki symbol keys are introduced and used consciously, directing their energies.
Reiki III - is the Masters/Teachers Degree. Reaches a higher level with the ability to channel healing energy. Includes 2 more Reiki symbol keys, more esoteric information on these symbols and the method of passing attunements.

Each individual's session is different. Some people feel the energy flow and some don't feel anything at all. This is fine - don't worry, nothing is wrong with you. The energy is still working on you whether you feel it or not.

I had a very positive and healing experience receiving Reiki treatment from Dianne. I came to her in need of releasing a month’s worth of crisis management and stress which continued to occupy my body and mind. Her environment was immediately welcoming and soothing as was her manner. Dianne explained everything that would happen in the session, and I felt very comfortable putting myself in her care.
